YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights 17-year-old was charged as a juvenile after being accused of having weapons components and forged documents.

The Yorktown Police Department said the boy was arrested Monday, and the charges, if they had been committed by an adult, would have been two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a forge instrument, all misdemeanors. Police said, on Monday, an officer working in conjunction with members of the Westchester County Police Department learned that a Yorktown young person may have obtained firearms and/or firearm parts and components.

Around noon, Yorktown police, assisted by Westchester County Police officers and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, tried to locate the boy, who was eventually found at a residence on Baldwin Road.

At that residence, police said they found and seized multiple firearm parts, pistol components and some forged documents.

The 17-year-old was arrested and taken to police headquarters for arrest processing.

He was processed with a parent present and issued a juvenile appearance ticket directing them to appear in Westchester County Family Court in White Plains March 30.

The teenager, whose name was not provided, was released to a parent.
